Yep I noticed this - I wonder if it has been pulled from the auction?

It looked like a clean car and could have been a good buy at the guide price - maybe someone got in touch with the seller and made a strong offer pre-auction?

This is pure speculation of course!

I sent the article to my girlfriend I just had to check she didn't buy it rofl (dream car for her).

Seems odd to pull the whole thing rather than just mark as sold (perhaps they'll edit the article).

The seller has now decided to keep hold of the car for a bit longer, but it'll hopefully be returning to PistonHeads auctions when they decide to sell. Apologies for any disappointment, but we do have plenty more for sale in the classifieds herebiggrin

perhaps they saw how cheap everyone was saying it was, decided to pull it from sale and will be relisting it for £8k more, which would make it more in line with other cars for sale...

shame, as i also saw it and thought 'what a bargain'... old adage, if it looks too good to be true, it usually is.

Yeah quite possible although it was an auction wasn't it? So it could have sold over the estimate of course. Perhaps it'll be back as classified wink

It was an R8 article so it was heading the same way as all the others:

  • R8s are slow.
  • R8s are boring.
  • My Golf R / Civic Type R is faster than that.
  • R8s are a budget super car, I love them.
  • R8s are NOT AT ALL SUPER CARS, they are mere sports cars. --> (Normally Lamborghini / Ferrari owners)
  • R8s are grand tourers and not even sports cars. --> (Normally Porsche owners)
  • Nice TT mate.

After having a bit of a wobble, the seller is now committed to go through with the auction so the article and auction listing are now back up again.

Good to see, the new guide doesn't seem unreasonable either. I'm sure it'll do well it's a great looking example to my eyes.
