Bots bumping very old posts

When bots bump very old posts, like from 2009 as in TV, Film, Video Streaming & Radio today, rather then just deleting the guilty post, couldn't the topic be locked or even deleted to tidy up the afflicted section?

Once we receive a report and the thread is tidied that's what usually happens.
