Morning all
In a first world garage disaster of epic proportions I managed to knock over my BMW C1 into my VH Vantage while manoeuvring my Morgan 3 Wheeler in the double garage.

Very stupid and extremely annoying as the Vantage now has 2 dents in the door and it looks like the mirror is also damaged.

I wondered if anyone could recommend a good body shop or indie near to Sevenoaks North Kent who might be able to do a good job without the main dealer premium? It may be an insurance job but if it can be resolved without breaking the bank probably better just to eat the cost and avoid 5 years of elevated premiums.
Thks

Sorry to hear very annoying.

If it hasn’t broken the paint a dent specialist may be able to get the dents out?

I need to have a look in the light of day but paint looked intact. I fear one of the dents is on the door crease that will make it harder. I’ll post a few pics later on. Do the dent guys just pull dents out with a magnet? I fear it’s a bit worse than can be solved by that.

Ouch. Just to hopefully make you feel a little better I managed to drop my fully loaded up BMW GSA on to my previous DB9. The handlebar put a hole through the front wing. It made me feel quite sick. Thankfully a fantastic body shop up norf fixed it.

Thanks both for the sympathy. I felt pretty stupid and sick when it happened.

Pics below. Could a dent shop sort these out? Can anyone recommend a good one as I imagine there are some cowboys out there.

Ouch sorry to hear that. My Vantage S is currently being resprayed by Luke at Chappell Coachworks in West Kingsdown, right by brands hatch. His number is: 01474 855503. Haven’t got mine back just yet but hope to in the next few weeks.

A dent guy may be able to do that. It's PDR where you glue pull the dent then hammer back down etc. Failing that, DB paint I would recommend in Ewhurst Green. 30 mins or so Sevenoaks though.

I can vouch for Phil Woods at Classic Car Restorations near Mereworth - 01622 815325.

Did superb repairs and bare-metal resprays on my 1977 V8 and Triumph Stag but also works on modern cars.

A decent PDR guy might sort that out.

Many thanks for all the names and contacts.

It sounds like it is worth a shot with PDR first.

Having had a close look again today I now definitely need an internal mechanism for the right mirror too. I managed to smash that too.

I reckon that has a good chance of repair by a specialist dent company. I used Ryan at Fixadent on my DBS and he was fantastic. He pulls the dents out with a wonderful array of tools and manipulation. Highly specialist art.

Quick update on this for anyone interested or having similar nightmare.

I spoke to a few of the recommendations above and the main dealer and was given quotes ranging from £3,000ish for filler and paint to £7,500ish for a new door and paint.

With those worst case scenarios there was nothin to lose going the PDR route first although all those I called first were sceptical much could be achieved.

I eventually went to Dent Rewind in Tunbridge Wells as it was local and strongly recommended by a neighbour and they did a fantastic job. If you really study the area and know where to look you can still spot a very minor anomaly but without pointers you’d never know. I couldn’t recommend Dent rewind enough and it just goes to show what miracles can be done by these guys.

Incredible job by Dent Rewind. I would have said the damage was far to severe for one of these dent wizards.

All the more so due to the construction of the door out of aluminium and with a secondary skin/shell that makes its very hard to get to that area. I was truly amazed and to make matters even better I managed to fix the mirror myself. My visions of a £7.5 bill + the cost of a new mirror reduced to £300 in 3 hours. Result as they say smile
