Anyone know if its possible to buy a 1984 350i heater matrix off the shelf? Or do I have to cut my old one out the heater box and send it away for refurbishment.
Any advice much appreciated

It was a Friday pm lash up.

Much better looking at car builder solutions website at their offerings. Plenty have chosen from there during the refurbishment of their TVR

The matrix itself was probably nicked from a Mini, TR7 etc., but first you'd have to find one of those to compare.
It's only a copper-cored matrix, any traditional radiator repairers ought to be able to handle it... local to me (Teesside) is Motorcool who recored my cooling rad a couple of years back (easier than trying to find a replacement).
...or as said, CBS offer a selection of goodies, although you'll have to get jiggy with a tape measure.

I've just replaced the matrix on my 450 SEAC. I bought the matrix off ebay as link below. Width and height and connections were correct but overall length was about 20mm longer than original, however as the heater body is bodged plastic welded, it was easy to amend to suit.
