Hi,
I am having the rear roof recovered by an upholsterer and there appear to be around 10 grommets that are quite specialised and we can not find replacements. Also not sure what purpose they serve.
They are small with ID of around 3mm and splay out at the end with a slot in it.
Anyone come across these, know what they are for and know where to get replacements?
Thanks

Looks more like a push in fastener for trim etc. Is it plastic or rubber?

Yes it does and yes it is plastic as I have just found out.

Why would the hood have them?

racetech have a door trim rivet that looks very similar:

My thoughts are that these hold the trim material onto the rear of the hoop 'almost' hidden across the car. A@

Me too

On mine they were a posi head and bolt arrangement and fiddly to remove. Possibly your clip is an aftermarket trim clip which is easier to fit/remove?

(this is correct on the rear shell hoop).

IF you have the car to take pictures of ...look above your head for the plastic clips in the back of the roof hoop. A@

I think you are spot on Adrian. Unfortunately the hood and car are not in the same vicinity so I'll not be able to completely check until I visit the upholsterer. Trouble is we have had very heavy rainstorms here in Sydney and the road to the upholsterer is closed because of flooding. Their workshop also has water ingress so hope my stuff is OK

Ref Adrian's last post. Please see poor photo of the top roof rail with the trim clips. On mine they are smooth rounded with no screw heads. Hope it helps

Hi all,

Just to finish off this thread.

They are called trim rivets and are part number: RIVET PLASTIC BLACK SKU: TVR V0040.
I ordered 20 of them and got them from Motaclan.

Did find the following image that shows where they go:

Thanks for all the help.
