Water passenger footwell
Discussion
I've started getting water in the passenger footwell after it has rained. At first I thought it maybe the window seal. But it appears to be coming from further to the front of the car. Like from under the bonnet. Any ideas? Have heard it can be hard to source the problem from a quick Google search.
Thanks
Thanks
Might help if you say what car it is.
I had a Peugeot 106 GTi that had blocked drains that ran down the pillars of the windscreen and came back up the plastic on the inside of the pillar and spilt in to the footwell.
Could be sunroof, could be a window seal. Water will always find the lowest point to spill out of.

Blocked drains in the front scuttle water though the heater vents? Which car is it?Thanks

It has a sun roof yes but is a long way from were the water is getting in. Pollen filter I'm not sure when was last changed or were is. Thanks
The sunroof drains usually run down the A pillars, worth checking they're clear/intact/etc.Pollen filter is behind the glovebox, easy to get to, so check if that's wet too.

A water test on the seals do you mean?
A-Pillars are the right and left sides of the windscreen. Water test on the windscreen. Simulate rain with a hose or watering can. Best to have someone on the inside looking and dabbing with tissue around the edges. If nothing, you have to get under the carpet in the footwell and kick panels to see if you can spot water trickling in.
If still drawing a blank, check any cables/loom/pipe coming through the bulkhead. Water can sometimes travel along them and enter the cabin area especially if the grommet is damaged or unseated.
