Remove paint from alloy wheel face
Discussion
Looking at a set of alloys which have just been returned but the mating face seems to also be covered in paint, hard to tell exactly on the photos but assuming so.
Any recommendations on method to remove? I was thinking of just taping off the face and applying a paint remover and then finishing with some 800 or 1000 wet and dry on an aluminium block to make sure I keep flat.
Did think of just attacking it with a glass scraper/blade but rather not dig into the metal if I can help it or just go at it with the sander but the diameter of my sander isn't as big as the face so again worried about keeping it flat

I’ve used these for cleaning up aluminium surfaces.

How do they handle removing paint do they gunk up quickly?https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/325977615645?mkcid=16&a...
Is there a version for a Drill, would be easier to keep it level with a drill over an angle grinder I think

Not at all, and I don’t know. Is there a version for a Drill, would be easier to keep it level with a drill over an angle grinder I think
But the idea is it’s a soft plastic that won’t eat into the metal, even a soft aluminium rim. So the angle shouldn’t matter too much.
