Nice places between Barcelona and Valencia

We have a ferry booked for next month and have 3 weeks to fill in Northern(ish) Spain.
Pretty well done Santander to San Sebastián/Hondarribia/La Rioja and are planning a trip across to the ‘other side’. Have been North of Barcelona to places such as Girona/Begur and over the border to places such as Argeles Sur Mer.
So this time we are thinking as per the title, however, have no experience of the area.
We are a couple with no kids, live by the sea already but feel that the coast of this region will offer what we require best, in 3 words food and drink!
Enjoy historic places, good squares, a cathedral and a marina would be good. None are deal breakers apart from the food and drink.
Will probably spend a week driving across, a week in an apartment then a week back to Santander for the ferry home.
Any suggestions?
A week in an apartment in a small cove with a few great bars and restaurants would be perfect, we are taking the car so parking important.
As it’’s PH we are taking an XC90 so exciting driving roads not a requirement.
