Well, Me109s had water/methanol injection so you're halfway there. Chuck some meths in the front and see what happens...Not sure if that's about too much water lol
As for drainage, sand is very fast draining and Dubai is made of sand so it will all be gone by tomorrow. But there will be some big insurance claims from all those flooded Rolls Royces.
I suppose some people will say 'Well this is all down to climate change and that's where all the oil comes from so it serves them right haha'. Me, I'm surprised there's any rain left after 3 months downpour over the UK.

This was pretty bad because it was a 1 in 75yr storm; we had a bad storm around a month ago too, that went on for longer but I think less rain fell because it caused less damage.

The snow equipment at LHR was bought in the back of the Begg report, circa 13 years ago.
The equipment, hardly redundant, has been used numerous times since then and is exercised several times each winter, snow or no snow, when the airport team undertakes snow drills.

Surely it's snowed in London since 2010? I know living on a hillside in darkest Aberdeenshire my perspective is probably a bit off but no lying snow in 14 years still seems a bit far fetched?
Back on topic - a friend rents a very pleasant villa in Muscat. The first time it rained it leaked like a sieve, literally water pouring on his head while he lay in bed. He obviously phoned the landlord who said "don't worry, it'll soon dry!".

Interesting, thanks. I have just been reading up on the plans for Dubai World Central. Amazing what can be achieved with minimal red tape and endless cheap labour. Makes you realise how stagnant things are in Western Europe.
