Touch wood, the only issues mine has had during its first year are a few really annoying buzzes and rattles in the cabin which have now been sorted with some additional sound deadening professionally applied to the common problem areas and interior.

Had mine for just over 2yrs - front bumper paintwork seems a bit keen to gather stone chips (dealer resprayed under warranty) but the only significant problem I've had is rattles as previously mentioned. Believe it's fixable but you have to take out the door card and secure a particular wire. CBA rules at the moment but some day I might attack it ;-)

Definitely a door card off job.

Guessing all T's and GT cars affected..... anybody know anything on this? Seems related to the wobbly mirror issue.

I had this letter drop on the door mat this morning, mine has the lightweight glass which I believe this issue relates to. Cars booked in next month.

Touch wood my mirror is still in place😂 but you raise a good point and hopefully mine will come back with a clean bill of health.

I also had the letter this morning , booked mine in for early June , they need it for one day if it’s all ok , if the glass needs replacing they need it 3 days .
I’ve got the lightweight package and I believe this issue is for the lightweight glass only .

No letter for me yet (I have a T).

Coincidentally, it was at the OPC today regarding some interior creaks and rattles.

Passenger door card creaks almost constantly - “Sorry we couldn’t hear any creaks so haven’t done anything”.

Also a weird metallic rattle from near the chrono clock - “That will be a dashboard out job to investigate. We’ll need your car for a week”.

Sigh.

+1 exactly the same as mine.

I mentioned on the T thread that mine had terrible interior rattles from day 1. Both doors, somewhere deep in the dash, they took the windscreen wiper scuttle panel apart under the frunk, they thought the dash one was from there.

All the plastic panels creak, the air vents creak, somewhere in the roof around the sunroof creaks. All the interior plastic, and there is a lot, is appalling quality, to think they are related to Audi and Bentley with their amazing interiors boggles the mind.

A contributing factor, certain on the T, is the fact they forgot to fit suspension, mine felt like they had left the transport blocks in, so I suppose the interior is up against it from the off.

Multiple times they tried to fix it, they got it better, but I still couldn’t handle it.

Annoying isn’t it, my Touring seems to have the same ‘quirks.’ Over on Rennlist there is a solution using resonix but there’s no way I’d have the patience or skill to take my interior apart.

I went down a similar route covered on many of the Rennlist forums, the installer my car went to uses Skinz as opposed to resonix but after 3 days with them the results have been superb, rattles have gone, I can actually hear the BOSE ( which, let’s be honest, is not the premium set up Porsche want us to believe) but the real eye opener for me is how solid the car as a whole now feels.
Mines a GTS but there was pretty much zero sound deadening or proofing anywhere in the car which I’d imagine is pretty much the same in your touring.

No letter for me yet, I have a T. I think tho I may have an issue with the drivers window, it seems to steam up when ever I have driven the car whether it has rained or it’s sunny???. No rattles to report but not done very many miles only 202! In 4.5 weeks.

That’s great, my cars going in for the window recall and the rattles are on the list. I’ll see what they say, I have a Taycan that doesn’t rattle in the slightest so I don’t think it’s acceptable.

If you cannot get rattles sorted by the dealer, take your car to a professional car audio firm. They are experts at removing noise and rattles, as they are judged on it in car stereo competitions.

I had a glovebox rattle in a BMW and a local audio specialist found it and sorted it. They used a phone App (of which there are many) that allows them to play a single frequency constantly. By running this through the speakers and going through a range of frequencies they will make the rattles vibrate, since when they hit resonant frequency they vibrate like crazy.

That makes it easy to locate and since they are well-practiced at stripping panels and fitting noise insulation foam, they should be able to sort it. Obviously that's easier for a door or trim rattle than for one deep inside the dash etc.

That’s a great idea, hadn’t thought of that. I’d rather not pay for it at this stage though! I’ve had quite a few 911 over the years and am used to rattles on bad surfaces but this one is particularly bad.

Cheers!

I have a rattle finder mp3 file if anyone would like to try it, it helped me identify where the source of my cars rattles were but I did need to use a professional to rectify them.
