Expensive

THe M4 market is overly saturated and things aren't selling fast unless cheap

A higher mile M4 comp for that price is a hard buy

Plus you need to start looking at maint fixes as a few issues can arise around 60k miles - turbos, crank hub etc

Id want a cast iron BMW AUC warranty at that price and miles

Keep looking imho

I'd keep looking.

My brother bought a similar spec'd 18 plate but with 29k miles for circa £29k only a month ago. His doesn't have icon headlights though but has HUD, HK and Exterior carbon pack. Cannot recall interior spec.

Just updated my post apologies. His is yas marina and no icon but rest of spec sounds the same.

Completely unmodified and tuned so less worried about crankhub, more worried about turbos I've read that if they're unlucky enough to go it can be at lower mileage too. Will put £1.5k aside in anticipation of a turbo rebuild needed.

I dont think theres any chance of getting an M4 comp under 45k miles from BMW for less than 34k atm and when I went to talk to BMW, they seemed reluctant to shift on price unless I used finance.

Looking on AT looks like low to mid £30s for a sub 30k mile car depending on spec. Admittedly I was surprised how "cheap" my brother managed to get his although was not from bmw auc but from one of those car supermarket dealers so possibly contributed to the lower price and may just have gotten lucky! Best of luck with your search!

53k miles is not high mileage for sny car, you don’t mention the year OP but I assume 18 plate ish? If so that’s less than 10k miles a year.

These cars are all about how they have been treated and maintained. Crank hub should not be an issue on a standard car.

The turbo seals can be an issue but is in the main uncommon on a standard and looked after car, as with any car these things are all over talked in owners groups.

If anything I’d be more concerned about the car battery because they seem to be failing fairly regularly now at around 8 years old and the cost for an M4 battery is around £7-800, you can’t buy one off the shelf from eurocarparts.

There’s cheaper ones around for sure but main dealers seem to be holding their prices on them, I probably paid a little over the odds for mine last September but no regrets at all, I think mines a keeper.

Great advice, will be making the purchase as soon as I can find suitable insurance, hopefully on Monday!

I'd hunt out the icon lights, they're worth it. HUD also a must.

It would work but wouldn't last long and you'd get an error message on the dash. According to the US based forums (harsher conditions in some states mean batteries don't last as long) you can run a standard battery but need to change some hardware from a non M F3X. No idea if it is a good idea long term.
