Haven't had working sat nav for years. Got new genuine SD card last week - not recognised. Anyone know an indie in the West Mids whol can look at it for me?

What car is this in reference to and what is the navigation not doing?

66 Leon Estate. It's not doing anything. "Not available" It all started, or stopped, when I tried to update it a few years ago - before seeing the warning at the bottom of the VAG instructions page that it would not work in the UK.

That footnote has now gone and there are a few videos on YouTube giving instructions on how to carry out the update - basically what I did before - which I tried with the SD card I originally bought for the purpose (a slightly updated version from the original) but that also failed, and even the compass direction notification has now disappeared. I've recently got the latest updated SD card but still no joy. I think something needs flashing, but I'm no expert, as illustrated.

I don't specifically know someone in your area, but I'd look at companies who do retrofit/coding work; if it is a software issue (sounds that way) then they are likely well placed to address for you.

This - sounds like something vw retrofit in reddich (or a similar company elsewhere ) would be able to sort.

Have you tried doing a factory reset of the stereo?

I'll try that firm, thanks. Yes, full reset only annoyed my wife even more because it wiped the radio presets!
