Morning chaps,

Just a quick question as I haven't done this before..

Car is going up for sale next week, thought it would be prudent to get the original plate back on and the current on retention.

I was just checking the DVLA website and it says I can put it back on retention for £80 which is fine, but it's literally going to be for a few days before I apply for it to go on the new vehicle.

As tight as I am, I was thinking whether the cheaper option would be to transfer it to my second vehicle in the meantime, but I'm not sure if that has a cost attributed to it also?

Anyone who's done this previously got any insights to share?

Thanks.

There's no difference in costs to transfer or retain,so you can put it on retention and then transfer it on to your next vehicle for £80.
