I'm having a new garage built at the moment. Roof is going on in a fortnight.

My plan is a three phase distribution board, lighting on PIR and also switched, low level lighting on a switch, power sufficient for two chargers, two armoured network cables for cameras and smart lighting. There will be at least seven double sockets.

What have I forgotten? There's bound to be something.

This is for daily car storage, I have a lift in my shed, so I don't need that. Just thinking about what I haven't thought about.

Thanks for any ideas. smile

If it’s for storage only:

Small wall mounted compressor for Tyre pressures.

Tap for hose / pressure washer connection.

lay flat security posts.

Storage for anything that shouldn’t be in the workshop yet neither in the house. I.e. cleaning products and the like.

Tennis ball on a string hanging at an appropriate distance and height so it touches your windscreen before you tt your car off the back wall.

Carpet up wall to prevent door dings.

I have a physical switch on the electric garage door that ‘makes’ when the door is open, that switch is wired via a dusk sensor to power up the main internal garage lights whenever the door is open in the dark.

So I can drive up to the garage in the dark, open the electric door and reverse into a fully lit garage. When the door shuts, the main lights go off and the timed light on the door opener is on long enough to get me to either the light switch or out of the garage. Not essential but makes life a little easier.

I put floor traps with power and enough space for my Accumate chargers , to prevent trailing leads over the floor.

One near the door, one at the back of the garage.

Conduit instead of armoured network cable, or in addition to.

Easy access to a good earthing point / ground, in case the electrician needs it for the car chargers.

Water/tap?

If you are having EV chargers in there with possibility/intent to charge an EV in there I would say a second exit point.
