I have an occasional problem where footnotes (length of membership & no of posts) disappear from under peoples names, even though the option is still ticked in preferences.

Un-ticking, and then re-tickin the box makes them reappear but they go again after a while.

Same here. Usually about the same time as my login cookie expires, so that might be a clue.

I find the cure is to untick it, save changes, re-tick it and save again.

Just tried clearing cookies and it does cause them to disappear, though when going in to preferences the box is still ticked.

The summary is correct.

For reasons I can't recall I store it in a cookie and on your profile. When the cookie expires you need to update the preferences (even though it knows your preference) to reinstate the cookie.

Sorry? Whats this about? Havn't ever looked at my preferences as I browse all over the place and didn't want to cut out any areas. Must have a look.

Edit: Look at that! I was wondering how everyone else knew I'd hit 1000!
