How long to wait for a ban?

This might seem like strangely eager but how long does it take for from the offence to getting a ban to going to court (for totting up)?
I was clocked back in May and the last I heard was the Conditional Offer Of Fixed Penalty which says "Do Nothing - arrangementd will be made to proceed to court".

As my insurance & MOT expired end of June and I expected to be banned I didn't bother renewing and sent the SORN. Also (I guess I'm being hopeful) would that be taken into account?

I believe that it can take up to 6 months for them to go to court. I'd keep driving while you still can, if you're expecting a totting up ban...
