Anyone know where to get parts to modenise an MGB Roadster..

hope some one can help, i've just bought an 1978/79 MGB Roadster and would like to fit electric windows and central locking if i can... and one know where i can get kits? what about electronic start buttons.... i made similar modifications to an old mini and was told some of the parts are interchangable... can this be true? someone please help!!

The MG Owners Club sell an electric window kit, but I'm not aware of anyone with an MGB central locking system.

I imagine it would be fairly simple to modify a system to suit from any vehicle - try your local scrapyard.

Moss offer the kit specially tailored for the B otherwise check out the kit car parts places as i have seen both electric windows and central locking kits for a 1/3 of the price that MG dealers charge. Admitedly spend more time fettling to get it to work but worth considering if the budget is tight.

Any idea where to start? or am i just looking for any kit car units and modifing them??

Kit car units are what you are after, believe they are about £ 49 - otherwise MGOC and MOSS do MG specific kits which although alot more expensive would require less effort to fit.
