Does anyone know what other production vehicles the rear calipars from a 91 SE were used on.

They are a Girling part and I have not had to source them yet. I am not sure they are available anymore. Unless you rebuild them you might have to go with a replacement as I have heard no one has new ones.

Hey Calvin,
I rebuilt the calipars and I assumed the rebuild kit would include the rubber boot covering the parking brake mechanism. But it did not. So I am in search of the rubber boots. Its starting to look like this is a futile effort.
Thanks for the reply.

Do you have a parts book? I have one at home and will get the Lotus part number. Once you have the number try SJ as they have a lot of parts for our cars.

No. Unfortunately I don't have the parts book. I did e-mail Steve at SJ yesterday but I have yet to hear anything. John Shepard told me that it was a discontinued part, meaning the entire calipar. So I'm starting to consider what material to use to fabricate a boot. But if you do find a part number that may be useful, that would be great.
As always, thank you Calvin.

They list the boot as part of the cable assembly. There must be a better way than that. We must research that as ther must be a something we can use. I know if I keep the car as long as I plan on it I will have to replace those too.

Calvin,
I just received word from Steve at SJ. They can supply the boots. So I will be giving him a call Monday morning. Is there anything you need me to ask when I speak to him? If so just let me know. I appreciate your research.
Cheers

John,
Nope The only thing I have on my list right now is next spring I will put on rear brake pads, change the brake fluid and the tranny fluid. Also next spring I am going to get some beta seal (can't use Beta seal in the winter) to attend to the failing left quarter window seal, it has not totally gone and leaking but will fail in the next year or two as it has the crinkling around the edges associated with failure. Other than that my car repair list are fairly boring as I have almost run out of things to do with the car. I frankly am at a loss for things to do on the Lotus, so I will have to either invent things or take a hiatus from the Lotus as it goes into storage. This past years effort was to prepare the Esprit for LOG to ensure a fun and reliable event. Other than the routine checks and maintenence all I have been doing is driving it as I am in between all scheduled major work. In a way I sort of miss the every Saturday morning working on the car. I guess I could attend to the rock chips on the spoiler. I could try Ernest's way of rock chip repair but I am more of a wet sand and buffer type of guy. Plus it is one application then wet sand and buff, something to do when you have an hour or so.

Jim, time grows short. We have another week of 40's F, then it's finally time for me I think. It looks like will give it's last wash and wax for the season and throw the cover over it. I have gotten the snowboards out to have them tuned up. You ever go to the slopes? You are welcome to join Matt and I as we frequent the black diamond slopes a lot so we will not hold anyone up. Of course we like to go fast and turn on a dime. Oh almost forgot. We have an open house at our office on Thursday (12pm-6pm). We will most likely have a PS/2 hooked up on the big screen (10'diagonal). I have the Motor Sports Elise, SP 350 w/the 1000hp emulation and the Lotus F1 cars on my memory chip so we can do head to head racing with two feedback steering wheels with paddle shifters.
