Chaps,

Having done a couple of trackdays previously in a TT (!!!! - sorry), I wondered if anyone can recommend a wide open space where i can take the Porker to have a play - without the slightest chance of nailing it into some armco!

There used to be a place near York where i learnt to drive some years ago - pay a couple of quid and away you go but not sure if it is still up and running.

Cheers

You want to get to a day at Elvington airfield when it's wet or snowy - that's the safest way to learn your car as the breakaway speed tends to be less.

Either an airfield day - or you could go for a day at Bedford Autodrome.

Steve, I think that you have been to tockwith near york?

They use to let you on the airfield there about 10 years ago, but I don't think that they will let you on there anymore.

they are right, the best places for you to go are trackdays at elvington.

I've done several down there and it's a right laugh, I did mallory a couple of weeks ago and we can back with 3 smashed up cars... not good.

trust me, get onto easytrack or bookatrack and it will be the best 100 quid you can spend.

well, firstly it was raining like you have never seen rain before, and we had an instructor for the day teaching us how to bring the pace on, well, put the 2 together and you ain't going to find the limit of the car without something happening....

the photo's are priceless, the photographer was on the corner of the track just at the right time for 2 of them, it was my brothers TVR that came off worse, bonnet flew off and then he hit the armco...

fun, fun, fun... that's what it's all about.
