Password length

Ted, I have been through some archives and noted that a while ago you said you had increased the password length from 8 to 16 characters but when I went to change my password to fall in line with all my other ones, it will only allow me 8 characters.

I don't suppose you could help me with this or shed some light on the subject could you please?
