Anybody found an alternative induction solution for the S6? I have noticed some cracks appearing in the air box around No 1 trumpet, (T350). I guess I have 3 choices. Try to fix what is there, replace with new TVR air box or maybe there is an aftermarket solution out there? or I guess another idea would be to make something from scratch, in which case what would be the optimum configuration? I like the idea of six individual trumpets and filters but is that at all sensible?

Cheers in advance.

six separate trumpets and filters will only be any good if you have a cold air ram pipe directly to the filters

Better to put all the intakes into a plenum drawing from a common air filter, as the air speed through the filter will be far more uniform and lower on average (for a given total filter area) - this will give better filtering and less pressure drop across the filter.

Thanks, sounds like the TVR setup is not so bad just a bit weak. I think I'll fix what I have for now and set about making something similar but less prone to fracture.

Cheers

I am, as we speak having a carbon fibre airbox made, modelled on a brand new plastic one from TVR. Will keep you posted with pics, when it's all finished (currently waiting for a new clutch, which having been sent from the UK still hasn't arrived....so expect a 2 to 3 week wait for the results.

Can I ask how much / where from? I could do with a new airbox and am interested in alternatives to the substandard (imho) TVR offering.

Still waiting for a final pricing. Obviously the first one will cost me dearly, but if there are more people interested they may look at making a few more and thus bringing the price down. It is being made by a local Australian yacht builder for me. If there is any interest let me know. Once I get a final price I will post it up here .
