It looks like pocketgps.co.uk will soon start charging for the database. There's a lot of arguing going on link here www.pocketgpsworld.com/modules.php?name=Forums&file=viewtopic&t=32554 . Atb Derek.

I'm not surprised they needed to do that. After Fifth Gear mentioned the URL the traffic must have been enormous.

I use their database - and download it probably every six months or so. So it will cost me £4 a year. Bargain.

I've always used the database(s) from www.poihandler.com/

You have to pay for the speed related ones but all others are free. Cost is £8 or might be $8 per year for the speed ones. The advantage with this one is that when you sync your PDA it logs onto their site and updates the database and adds/removes any new poi's. So if a new speed camera is put up in Blackpool today I can add it on my PDA and as soon as I sync it tonight everyone else will receive it when they next sync.

You usualy need some other software (I use POI-Warner).
