Has anyone tinted the windows of their VXR.

If so, could you send me some pix (monaro-at-corvette-dot-demon-dot-co-dot-uk)

I'm thinking of doing mine and wanted to see what it looks like.

Thanks in advance...

MalcN has done his and they look excellent.
Have to say it's one of the things I've considered too.

I think the legal tint is quite low though...something like 50%, maybe less.

Mines black with as-dark-as-allowed tint that was done in Oz when new. pic are at this link if you have not seen it. I reckon tint really sets the car off, especially black or red ones.

Not a Vauxhall but had mine done by Gatwick Autoshades in green with a titanium content which look good (about 35% tint) on a black car IMHO, the main selling point is that the metal content reflects about 90% of the suns rays which is great with younger passengers in mind as sitting in traffic with the full glare of the sun they remain cool.

They took about 3 hours on the rear window alone so it took nearly a whole day & whilst I had a very good price it will now set you back in excess of £400.

Only problem is that the rear demister tracks can get damaged by the tint film.
Mine has failed (On an 00 model R8) You can see the track has been broken and lifted off the glass. Only fix is a replacement windscreen and retint.. Not cheap.

How about just wearing dark glasses

Similar prob.... I had a 00 Clubby & it had tint done when new.. did not affect the demister but the tint started to bubble towards the outer edges where the demister elements looped. Was even worse where the circuit entered the window area.

Think thats why it took 3 hours for the rear window, no lifting or bubbling at all in 3 years of use, correct fitment is everything

That's good to know as they are only 10 mins (ok 2 in the Monaro) down the road from me

I can get 10% discount via another club (SMCC) but I think they are up for deals, mention they did the first HSV & they should remember me, I would expect they would do discount for all HSV forum members if asked nicely.

The only pics/vids I have of mine are the ones Damo and Big Nige took at Bedford on the track day, they give a good perspective tho.

Mine is a 50% tint, I think the legal limit is as low as 20 ish percent.

Well they did 5 windows for £250 about 3 years ago so £180 is a good price
