I like it! Very clean and easy to use.

edited to add:

could you include the topic pages (1,2,3..) etc so you can jump straight to the end of the thread?

imo i think it needs the 'forum' as well as the subject. Some titles can be quite obscure. Otherwise very nice.

This might sound a bit painful, but some sort of indexing capability would be monumentaly good.

So in it's simplest form, when you hit the thread with new posts, the focus goes to the first of the unread posts, rather than the head of the thread. I wouldn't mind if the pages were still split the same and the browser scrolled to the appropriate post.

I guess another way to do it would be to have a new arrangement of pages, with the indexed post at the top.

This would also be useful for finding posts made by a particular individual on a particular thread.

If you understand what I mean, I appreciate that this is more difficult than it sounds!

The other thing I noticed is that the Java menu bar thingy isn't appearing at the top of all these new pages. That'd be good too!

Quite like the new "look and feel" though!

Good point. Forgot that.

Yes, I can see that. I might put that in the tool tip or make it option to view it.

I do understand what you mean. I have built that into the new topic page so that threads can be accessed from a particular post (or last read post) onwards. I've got a bit more work to do on that before I can put it live though.

The javascript menu was controversial when it was introduced and I'm sure it will be controversial when it disappears too

I really like this new look and feel Ted.

Comments:
1. Forum as well as Topic would be handy (as noted by others)
2. "This month" (as well as 24hrs/48hrs/7days/14days) would be handy too

Looks good, although will take a little getting used to.

Can I just renew my request for multi-select / multi-delete on bookmarks, please? Check boxes in addition to the bin icons, perhaps, and a "delete all selected" link somewhere.

Are we supposed to see whose been telling tales?

You still haven't sorted the page back issue.

Instead of splitting topics and replies, and having multiple tabs, why not have an icon on each line and just have the combined topics & replies (and call it contributions again). You could put some tickboxes at the top of the page so we could select one or t'other, or both, with both as the default. You may not even need an extra icon if you added the author field and made the display pretty much identical to the normal forum format (its pretty close already). Sorting by column would be most useful too.

I see why you split into ranges, but maybe an "all" option, or "this year", would be good.

Also an option to show only topics with new content would be useful - I know the icon on the left tells you that, but a quick list of whats changed in the topics I've recently contributed to would save time. You could change the background colour on topics with new content to a different shade of grey to make them stand out as an alternative.

I like it though, its better than a list of just the topics.

If you look at the "topics" or "replies" tabs its in 30 day ranges there, so you already have "this month" (ish).

I have on the profiles, the thread you were reading is now in the top navigation bar to return to. Because you're linking direct to the test page you don't see it currently.

That's what the first tab consists of.

That should be happening already with greyed out topics that you've caught up with and bold blue for unread topics. Please let me know if you're not seeing that as it's quite key.

I'm seeing it here ok (Firefox 1.5) - makes life much easier.

I'd agree that a tooltip might be the best way to go in order to indicate which forum a topic belongs to, as in general I probably don't really care what the forum was if I know I've already contributed to a particular topic - i.e. it must have interested me enough in the 1st place, so why do I need to know where it was now?

Subtle difference, perhaps I'm not explaining well. Yes I realise that what the first tab was, but I'm suggesting having only that tab with a visual indication of topic or reply(icon or author field) and dropping the other two completely. Too busy.

Yes, I see that now, that's great. I didn't at first as I somehow had got YOUR topics, not mine (which is why I saw who had been snitching!), so nothing was highlighted.

Understood. People have asked for the other two though so I'll leave 'em there (allows you to step back through the months that you started topics, rather than when they were last updated).

Here's an idea - I really like the format of the existing "what's new" page and use it all the time.
How about adding a column or some other way of indicating which topics you have replied to in this view?
Often I end up "manually" doing this for myself by using (abusing?) the bookmark function...

I'll certainly do that. More data is now being recorded which allows them to be highlighted in the mytopics page. I'll use the same technique for the new what's new page (70% complete).
