I’m signing up for Club GT Events Summer Tour in July. I know the guys involved and know they promise to deliver a great event. What they’ve planned looks spot on for me. Great trackday, great route, good hotels, secure parking etc.

We head out on July 10th for 6 days taking us onto Spa-Francorchamps for a day and down across the Alps for three days. Am looking forward to giving the GT3 a good thrash around Europe if the Gallardo hasn’t arrived by then. I know a couple of others who’re signing up and it looks like it’s going to be great fun.

Details of the event can be found at: www.clubgtevents.com Have looked at lots of other events, having done the Cannonball in 2004, but now they are all getting really expensive. They seem to have got back to reality with this one at £3500 inc vat per car (2 passangers)

Albert has already booked in the F40, should be a blast

I might ask Kevin to post the full details on here

Yes

Did Spa myself last year, fantastic quick circuit, especially Eau Rouge, that's special.

The rest of the route for the event looks good too.

Here it is, this summer's Club GT Events “2006 Summer Tour”. No Surrender and Mr EVO, great you're coming along. It's taking shape nicely. If anyone has any questions, please send me an email. We've got some great things lined up.

Kev

On Monday 10th July, we will be heading for Europe for our 2006, Summer Tour. The tour will take us through France, Belgium, Germany, Switzerland, Italy and Austria, returning to the UK on Sunday 16th July. Timed to start after the World Cup Final and Goodwood’s Festival of Speed, it promises to be a great driving week. Partly due to the track we are visiting, spaces are limited to a maximum of 35 cars. If you are interested in joining us, please let us know as soon as possible in order to secure your spot and confirm your place on track.

We are driving some of Europe’s greatest roads and passing through 6 countries in 6 days. Each day’s mileage is limited so you won’t be pushed along and the total mileage for the tour is less than 2000 miles. Our hotels are all 4* and have secure parking, late night bars and restaurants. Several also have swimming pools and saunas for those of you wanting to relax as well as party. As per usual, we are not branding cars with stickers and we have no timed sections. We will have the Club GT Events film crew with us to cover the trip and we will be giving everyone a short DVD after the event, which will include all of the cars on the move, both on track and on the roads.

After taking the Eurotunnel to France, our first port of call will be Belgium and what is widely recognised as the world’s greatest F1 circuit, Spa-Francorchamps. We have a full day on track on Tuesday before heading down into Germany for the evening. If anyone is interested, we can help transport your track car to and from the circuit, so you can spend the day in your track car, and the rest of the week in your road car. If you have any questions regarding the track day, please contact us.

After a relaxing, post F1 circuit evening, we will be heading down along the Autobahn, over the Alps and along the St Gottard pass before spending the evening alongside Lake Como. The next morning we are off to Salzburg, Austria, starting our drive along Lake Como before heading up into the Alps again, driving through St Moritz and taking in some of the most stunning mountain roads in Europe. With 1st gear hairpin roads, as well as fast sweeping roads alongside mountain lakes, this promises to be another fantastic day’s driving.

When we arrive in Salzburg we will be stopping for drinks at Red Bulls “Hangar-7”, an aircraft hangar alongside Salzburg airport. With an amazing collection of planes, cars and art, it is one of Europe’s most impressive buildings and a great place for a drink before dinner in the city centre.

On Friday, we will be driving back through Switzerland alongside the lakes and we will be stopping at “Auto-Salon” for lunch. With one of the best collections of Supercars in the world (currently including a McLaren F1, Enzos, Zondas, Carrera GTs, a Koenigsegg, and, shortly Veyrons), this is sure to be a memorable stop off for any Supercar fan. After lunch, we drive the remaining 120 miles to our hotel in Mulhouse, home to the world’s fastest car, the Bugatti Veyron.

On Saturday we set off from Mulhouse, destination, the Champagne-Ardenne region in France. With some great driving across the kind of roads France is famous for, you will arrive in time for the final night of the tour near Epernay. We have organised a fantastic evening, with a champagne reception and 4-course meal in beautiful surroundings. It will be the ideal setting to get together with the rest of the drivers, party into the small hours and discuss the week’s events. We aim to show a 20-minute DVD of the week during the evening.

The following day, Sunday, you are free to wake at whatever time you choose and make your way back to the Eurotunnel. We will aim to leave around 10:30 en mass, but for those who party late into the evening, there is no pressure to leave early.

It will be a fantastic week away, driving along some of Europe’s finest roads. In Club GT Events style, we will be visiting some unique places, including the trackday in Belgium and other stop-off’s en route. If you have any questions about any aspects of the tour, please contact us. We hope to welcome you along in July.

NB Due to the track day in particular, we must know if you want to join us as soon as possible in order to confirm your place. A deposit will be required and in order to confirm your place at Spa-Francorchamps, we will need confirmation by the end of Feb ’06 latest, providing places remain.
