The Citroen has now done roughly 1,800 miles. We have noticed a couple of problems with it. 1 The CD player constantly skips, but more worrying is that we notice that when getting in the car, it mists up considerably and doesn't clear for about 5 minutes.
The car is fitted with the Electronic Climate control, does that mean it isn't working?

mines just gone past 18k miles in the last 7/8 months so... well not noticed any real problems with misting, i have the 3dr VTR with manual air con. the only thing i notice is that the upper back screen and the 2 rear windows have a tendancy to mist up quickly when i get in a little damp from the rain, but 5 mins with the blower on the windscreen on 2 setting keeps the windscreen clear, and the heated rear window clears quickly enough - the lower screen never misting up

Silly question but have you tried the front screen de-mist button (lower left under the passenger temperature control) ?? It gives a quick clear for the front screen by turning blowers and heater up and shutting off all vent bar the windscreen.
Otherwise I'm stumped as mine does mist up when It's soggy outside but clears quick enough.
