My wife has bought me a Red Letter Day's Lambo experience at Prestwold Hall for my birthday. From reading the pamphlet, I'm know there will be little in the way of driving time, as it appears that most of the "experience" will be in an RS Focus. I've not driven a Focus before so that might be fun, and I'm never likey to drive a Lambo again so even a short blast will be worth it. Does anyone have any idea of what can I expect?

Good news - I did the supercar experience at Prestwold a month ago and it was fantastic! I have done similar days before and been disappointed by over zealous 'instructors' insisting you drive well, well within your own limits and those of the car. On my experience Prestwold was different. I paid for a friend to drive and having seen how much abuse the cars were getting decided to pay for myself too. Drove a Lambo, Ferrari 360, AMG SL55, Exige and Viper. Instructors encouraged us to drive very quickly and we had a great time. Highly recommended.

Reasonable outing but the cars have a habit of varying from what ye expected due to general knackeration/previous punter muppetry.

I agree. I was due to drive a Noble, but they substituted the Ferarri 360 which seemed like a fair swap! Apparently a customer had virtually written off the Noble a week earlier, and a 360 had actually been written off a few weeks prior to that... Consequence of the punters being encouraged to enjoy themselves!

I did a RLD "Ferrari Drive" at Prestwold on Saturday.

What can I say....?

Very well run, good instruction, few limitations from the instructors, and a proper evaluation of your "track driving".

Ended up with the 360 going through Tower at 105 mph with the t/c activating.

The day has certainly encouraged me to look at doing a "pukka" track day in my MINI Cooper S!

Well, this is very encouraging. I'm actually looking forward to it now. I've now booked it up for the end of March, so I'll report back soon after.
Thanks for all your coments. Simon.

I've been given a similar gift myself, but have can anywhere I fancy up to about £250 ish. I fancy Lambo's but can't see it on RLD web site. What's it called?

My dad got one of the Lambo days last year, it said he would do the warm up in the Focus RS but on the day they used Impreza STi's which he said were very quick, i think thye did 3 or 4 laps in that, then i think it was 3 laps in the Gallardo.

He said the instructor was letting him have pretty much a free run as far as putting his foot down, i think they can judge how good a driver you really are and will only hold you back if you're a danger.

One thing i would say is take a warm coat, it's very open, and if it's windy it's very cold.
