Whats the point

In Reading, on Richfield Avenue there is a BP petrol station, at the exit of the station there are 2 no right turn signs. Everyday when I walk/drive past I see 3 or 4 cars turning right, including last week a police car.
The road signs as far as I can see are standard issue no right turn signs but are on the garage property, does this mean that they can be ignored?

Unless there's a council order in place, i.e. the garage has simply put them up, you are free to ignore them.
They are not official Road Traffic signs. They are not erected by the local authority and have no order making them enforceable. They are erected for the convenience of the garage and the people that use it to avoid congestion and the possibility of collision.
You are correct in your assessment of them. They mean diddly squat!
