General enquiry really ...

I am trying to buy a new car, but I dont want a maniac car like Will's!!! So I am looking for something with little in the way of modification
I am thinking of buying Raggyman's and also have been looking on Pistonheads classified and have seen the LSV one, which I am also interested in. Yup, it needs to be automatic transmission

Can somebody answer the following for me

(a) did the vauxhall monaro ever get produced with auto transmission
(B) now that the monaro is out of production, any ideas of when there are likely to be a few on the pre-used car market

a: Not in this country, no. They area all 6-speed manuals
b: There are plenty on the Autotrader already.

Haha! A ute, thats original! Be good for a fun car, not entirely sure how practical it would be for me tho ... I do a lot of work travel! Not entirely sure how sensible an HSV is though for somebody like me, who does highish mileage. The thinking behind it is: I like to get to the destination as quick as possible without chronic bachache from being cramped up in a little car

Thanks for the feedback re the monaro, which I thought was out of production or imminent to be out of production .... gonna swear a lot, and do a rethink on the monaro!

Hey Di
There's a Monaro auto in Piston Heads classified section, been there awhile now. Look under 'links' 'classifieds' then Holden. It's up Northampton way. There are loads of auto Monaros 'down under'. Try the usual carpoint.com.au and car sales.com.au Click on 'all states'
for a wider selection.

That the LSV one, 500 brake aspirated, tried to sell it to Dianne last night to no avail!

Shame, nice car & the Auto box would make it a relaxing GT. The 500bhp would keep you amused as well!

Other advantage of a ute though, when you are the designated driver & Will's had a skin full, you can always put him in the really big seat at the back!

Hmmmmmmm! Maybe I need to give a ute a bit of serious thought!
It could have its advantages!

Hey Mick

I have thought about looking at a few cars, while in Oz in October, but hoping to have this wrapped up by October. If not, nearer the time, I may well look at some Oz sites!

Thanks Geoff!
That might be handy, although I gather imports are a bit of a problem at the moment!
