the elise is slated to come to the US in late 2003
but for $38-$42k ive been long waiting for this car but not for this price thats 24-26k GBP for you guys i wonder how much it would cost to export one?????

Well the new Liz may have a more powerful eninge guess the price range will be £23K - £31K as it is now(maybe more) - so $40 is about right...would be even more expensive to import with all the taxes/duties etc

Thats just how expensive things are over here ! ...what you pay in dollars we pay in pounds ;-)

i should have been more clear as to the import thing i was thinking of an older model say '98-'99 about how much do those go for

Well, you can get them for 12k, but they won't be federal compliant and you'll have to go though some grief to use it on the roads in the states.

You are aware that if you were to import one it would more than likely have to be for track use only, correct? The whole reason for having a "US version" of the Elise is to make it street legal here in the states.

See the recent thread on illegal Elise/Exige imports to the US, you should probably wait and get a legal one.

Don't think there are any street legal Elise conversions for the US market.

I'd just wait for lotus to do something if I was you. Getting your car confiscated by the DOT isn't funny...
