Why can PC's be so fustrating?

Came home in a reasonably good mood, looking forward to playing with a new Flash gadget for my website.

Decided to make cup of tea and I was set.

Checked an item I was gagging for on Ebay, and was set to download a trial version of Flash so I could tinker with this Flash gadget.

All good so far

*Internet connection coughs and dies*

Oh, for fecks sake...

*fiddles for over an hour to get the connection up again*

Get going again and restart my download, but then realise that the Ebay item had ended - Noooooo!!!

I then finish downloading Flash and try to install.

*Flash install coughs every time - with no reasonable excuse*

*Neil has a fit and flings his mouse across the office*

*Mouse hits LCD monitor*

*LCD monitor now broken*

Agggggghhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!

Why!

I've now missed out on my Ebay item, a broken monitor, and still no Flash.

Why are PC's so feckin stupid and decide to cough their guts up at the worst time - usually when your temper has gone past the breaking point?!?!

*crump - neil collapses in a fit of rage and dribbling*

You could always bid on Ebay for a new monitor...wait, oh right!

Or you could always find the cheapest priced one on the internet. Oh wait, same thing again!

update: will take this one to work and exchange for the 19" I just ordered cos' some dimwit (not me ) at work also broke theirs today - bit of asset juggling and all will be fine...

Should be able to slide that under the radar as 2 x repair bills instead of one and I get some nice monitors for my servers

QUite right, I've got a linux box at home, it's brilliant. Runs SuSe personal 9.something, never crashes, never fails, is super stable, super secure, never ever gets switched on because NONE of the applications I work with work in linux....

PS. May be a bad time to ask, but any progress with t'antivirus upload methods.. thinking of using AVG to keep me safe for now. This comp attracts all sorts of crap.

Dunno what the deal is with whatever AV you are getting from Neil, but why not just whack AVG or Avast on there anyway. Both free, both excellent.

I wouldn't put a paid for AV within half a mile of my PC, Norton and McAffee see fit to fill your computer up with crap I neither want nor need.

I have to agree with you there but worth a try I suppose!

AVG and Avast used to be the way but slow me down a bit.
I've only recently woken up and realised I have only got 512MB RAM I've been kidding myself I've got 1GB

Try norton corporate edition. Doesn't fill your computer up with rubbish, very efficient, quick clean and tidy, you'd never know it was there, no flash bells and whistles.
