Well G'day kids from downunder....

Well as expected weather is hot as!!

Took ages to get here... 1) Plan was delayed in newcastle for half an hour as there was heavy rain at heathrow. 2) Finally got to heathrow, and then had to wait 45 minutes while the guy who operates the aero bridge came back from dinner (I kid you not). At this stage wondering what the rest of the trip was going to be like.
3) Flight from London to Singapore was non eventful.
4) Had some dude decided to start a fight over the ocean between singapore and australia. Not good... they calmed him down, but when we got into Brisbane he was arrested. All excitement there. Then about 2 hours later, a lady yells out that her baby isn't beathing. Some oxygen fixed it, but almost had to do a divert to Darwin. but the choice was made to continue to brisbane.
5) went out on the grog... had some yellow cabbie come over to us and ask us if we wanted a cab.. Umm, strange, why would he not pick up the guys who are waiting in the cue? Ummm, this guy was almost like the dude out of wolf creek, and took us the LOOOOONNNGGG way around. We are all pretty much half cut, so we didn't know.
6) Advisable to take a girl with you. She managed to flag down a cab. At first we were not sure why he stopped for us, until he asked us if we wanted to listen to Aussie Aussie Oi Oi... Umm, ok... why not.... this dude is now an australian resident, and decided to make a CD to celebrate.... umm, kind of wish he didn't it was horrible.... so jagsy, guess what mate, have I got a really really great CD for you!!!

Anyhow, decided to go check out a couple of HSV's and take some for a spin. Wow, was impressed with the Senator... they are selling them here at the moment for $63kAu on the road. Only $1.5 k more than a new Clubsport. VERY NICE... would love to put one in baggage for the trip back.

Let me know if there is any shopping required...

Yup, was pretty warm in Brisbane, but bearable. Went to the footy to watch Broncos and Cowboy's play. What a game... mind you, wouldn't have liked to have been running around in this heat that is for sure.

Hey Raggy
I've just got back. Did you see the cyclone at Innisfail on TV? It was a Cat 5! a big one. Scary stuff. At one point wind gusts were estimated at around 290 ks, about 185mph. In the banana industry alone, 4000 lost their jobs overnight and hundreds made homeless. It hit while we were in Cairns and even as far away as we were, the devastation was immense. Trees as big as oaks, ripped out of the ground, as far away as Atherton. Many had no power for two days, most shops and businesses closed. Many livelihoods ruined. Poor ba.....s
No air con...and 30deg!! And rain? The Tablelands had 80mm in three hours on Monday night.
Had a Commy Exec for a few days, very basic. Did see one of those Highway Patrol Monaros, superb sight. Believe I saw an unmarked Hothouse Green SS Ute down in Vic. Very naughty. Seems like I spent two weeks just car spotting. And boy did I spot some.
Very few Monaros though.(on the road not including dealers) Only counted six in three States in two weeks. Two yellows, two blacks, one red and a silver. Saw, (and heard!), some older ones rumbling around.
Great stuff! diabolical being back.
