Just got a set today for my smart, very impressed with build quality & what they 'claim' it will do. Basically you need to clean the screen properly first, run wipers for 5 mins in the dry and add the supplied sachet of powder to your washer bottle & you will have no need for Rain X as the wipers coat/treat the windscreen and your water bottle supply keeps it conditioned.

Fit them later but has anyone experience of them?

Fitted them to the smart yesterday, outstanding quality and work brilliantly, best used to date, another set arrive today for the HSV with little wings on them. Basically you treat the windscreen with Rain x type stuff, run them for 5 mins dry to bed the silicone in and hey presto, no need to use them when raining at night!

These sound cool. Noticed the wiper blade was split on mine yesterday so I will be ordering some too. What size/style did you go for?

Would be interested to know how you get on with them long term.
I have used rainex for years but only on the side and rear windows.
Have tried on the windscreen a few times but always get the same result. Great on dual carriageways and motorways where you just do not need to use the wipers because the screen self clears.
Not so good once you are in slow traffic with light to moderate rain, as the treatment on the screen causes the standard blades to drag and stick more. Unless the windsreen is frequently retreated smearing occurs.

The silicone content in rainex repells water but increases the friction of the rubber blade/glass contact patch.
So i tend to stick! with standard blades replaced annually.

Yes I agree on the RainX, use it side & rear only, can't live with grey film smears even when clean. Let you know the outcome. Been speaking with someone about to buy a second set of PIAA wipers and he claims its like having RainX for 18 months without ever having to 'treat' the window as the silicone in the wipers doers that each time they are used.

Cheers V8HSV.
Sounds interesting for high mileage use.

Forgot to mention Rain X on the windscreen in summer encourages the bugs to stick!!
