car key

today i noticed in my monaro that i have what seems a small slot for a key/fob next the ignition barrel i wasent told about this at the dealers.
could anyone tell me what this is for.

hmm wonder if thats for that little key I got with my car that didnt seem to open anything obvious - havent noticed the extra key slot myself - must take a look.

Hi there,

By little key, I presume you dont mean the glove compartment key ?? Failing that you may have a second alarm system and that the bypass key (normally in the engine bay).

I don't have this slot near the steering column so I suspect is is also an secondary alarm feature.

yes the thought of it being for additional alarm system did cross my mind but its deffo not the glove box key.
