Can anyone recommend a company in the area that can do alloy wheel repaints? I'm looking to get my TVR Spiders redone in black/smoked chrome and want somewhere that I can take the car to and they'll do the whole job.

Cheers.

Ian Jemison Engineering, Tel 01904 703863

Think he charges around £50/wheel, although maybe a bit more if there's any kerb marks, etc, etc.

Did an excellent job on mine

Not come off it yet, so thats a bonus.

Soooo quick, can't quick get my head around it yet.

Did first bike trackday at Cadwell a few weeks ago & another booked for 11th May, then off on a California Superbike School course to learn how to corner properly.

Another recommendation for Ian Jemison. He's been doing my wheels for years. Time it right and depending on the work needed/finish required you might be able to get them done the same day.

Good to hear you're enjoying it.

A guy did that pose along side me at about 100 mph on a GSXR1000 coming up out of Otley late last year. I tried hard but there was no way I was keeping up with him.

He quoted me £50 just to press out a tiny dink on the inside of a wheel, which seems steep considering a full refurb is £50 too!
Not too good if they over-quote, because it kinda looses potentially pish easy work on their behalf when people go get quotes elsewhere...

What do most other people pay for minor correction to wheels. I rekon a smart tap with a panel dolly would straighten it out... might take it over and see what they say, just a long way to go to find out it's £50 no matter how fooked the wheel is. May as well buy another off Ebay for that much...

Are you still struggling?

We would be happy to help if required, we are a classic car restorer in east yorkshire who does all our wheels in house, while we usually specialise in MG and Porsche's we accept all work.
