Just received a phone call from DAVE52s friend Tam Williamson.

Sadly Dave has passed away yesterday at 1530 after a very short and tragic battle with cancer.

Funeral is at 11:00 on 28th at Morton Hall Crematorium in Edinburgh.

May he rest in peace.

DAVE52's pointed and direct posts will be missed.

Puts everything in perspective a sad day indeed...

Oh man, I had no idea.

Had a couple of run in's with the fellow but ulitmately he always seemed reasonable if firm minded.

Will be missed, there's no doubt.

Rest in peace Dave.

It is very sad when a person on the other end of a computer who shares the same interest as you departs to another place.
I had a few correspondances with him via email and via the website, I normally call home, which he contributed to.

Condolences and sympathy to his family, friends and his friends on this website.

RIP Dave. I am sure there is a Monaro waiting for you up there.

Vowed that I wasn't going to post for a while , but can't let this go without offering my sincerest condolences to Daves family and friends. His short and to the point comments always made me think and then invariably chuckle.
Maybe at 11.00a.m. on the 28th if it's not too dangerous we could pull over and give a quick V8 blip of the throttle in his memory?
RIP DAVE52.

oh no I had no idea he was even ill though I wondered where he'd been recently. I had met up with Dave several times and he was a mine of information and loved his cars. He'll be sorely missed. My condolences to his family. It is indeed a sad day.

I assume that the family have said its okay to publish the details of the funeral and with that in mind I'll make the trip through to attend. I'll inform the members of several other forums whose members Dave and I met up with around the country.

No address Richard, I didn't get anything from his friend Tam - too much of a shock to think of that at the time. Just the time and date of the funeral and location as in my original post. Bob - Well fans might know more. Just thinking it was a pity I never caught up with him in Newcastle that day.

Jeff.

Thoughts and condolences to family and friends on hearing this sad news.

Have chatted with Dave on a few occassions and found his "No B******T" approach quite enjoyable.
