Heads Up - Part III
Discussion
I know, let's replace Police officers, who are human beings and will make the odd mistake, with computers and cameras which are infallible.
Oh hang on a minute, that's been tried, and you didn't like that one either.
How about some positive comments on all the good work the officers on the ground actually did?

Dibble said:They did an excellent job... The failure was in those responsible for the sentencing. Not much of a deterrent

I know BO, but it really grips my sh1t when we have an hour of hardworking BiB (agreed being let down by the judicial system), and the first comment isn't "Well done", it's a moan about hands/wheel/radio.
Dibble i was not having a go as they did a fantastic copper on beat type job down amongst the scumbags of Manchester, i just wondered why we are expected to not do as they were doing, not really setting a good example thats all
this programme showed good old fashioned style Policing, can we have more of it please?

Massive respect to the BIB. Every one of those featured this evening is a credit to the force. Even toward the end of the programme where the local tried to provide a clearly false alibi, the cop involved kept his cool - not sure if I'd have been able to do the same.
The sentences handed down however were a joke. What sort of deterrent is a community service order to a habitual offender? Pretty much none I would guess.
Keep up the good work out there chaps

I think for the sake of brevity, clarity and relevance, I'll refer you to John57's answer.
Exactly how many of the officers from the programme do you think would stop you for using your mobile phone while driving anyway?

none as general traffic is not their brief
or was it a rhetorical question

did anyone else notice the Police driver with one hand on the wheel and the other on his lapel phone, therefore it must be ok to use your mobile without hands free whilst driving?
Yes OK, but the point is not totally without validity, and 'matchless' is fully entitled to make it. I agree with him, but that takes nothing away from all the splendid work done by BiB.
Best wishes all,
Dave.
TripleS said:Agreed, a straightforward common sense exemption in law for the emergency services would be far better than all the hypocritical whining about relative safety.
