Driving home from our cricket club the other night, which is in a country park so we have to drive along a single track road also used by horses walkers and small children on bikes, a man suddenly lept out in front of my brothers car and waved his dog lead in very aggressive manner, whilst shouting at him to slow down. My bro who was only doing 10 miles an hour and behind other cars had to swerve to avoid him. Talking to others at the club it appears he is a one man vigilante band obessesed with cars driving to the cricket and has done the same to other people.
Is it worth having a word with the local BiB because this man is
1 either going to cause an accident (my bros only been driving 2 months and was quite shocked) by someone swerving to miss him.
2 he looks like he might attack someone with his dog lead.
3 for the guys own safety, you only need a player from a visiting team who's had a dodgy LBW decision to take exception to his rantings and get out their car and plant one on him!

Yes. Talk to Bib. For all those reasons.

If push comes to shove, then notice that shouting and waving a "weapon" can be interpreted as an assault.

Perhaps he would settle for having a policeman do a few speed checks on you one saturday n return for his not being a knob.

Is it private land?

Is public access allowed?

Not too up to date since the 'Right to Roam' laws introduced, but what is his interest in this area?

Does he walk his dog - if so is it allowed?

Does he treat it as an extension to his back garden and believe he has 'rights' over it?

it's Elvaston castle at the moment it's owned by Derbyshire County Council until a private company take it over, so not sure about ownership right to roam etc
