A colleague of mine just got a NIP for doing 46 in a 30, od adual carriageway in Sheffield - (not me thank god -I am a good boy @ present !)
Question - he has declared he was the driver - what fae is he in for? Obviously it is 50% above the limit, a re test perhaps? or a driver awareness course ?

If he's nominated himself as the driver and unless he was on 9 or more points at the time of the alleged offence, then he should receive a Conditional Offer of Fixed Penalty (60 quid and 3 points).

Can't speak for the specific policy of the Sheffield SCP, but 46 in a 30 is a bit on the high side for a Speed Awareness Course to be offered, IMO..

True. The ACPO guideline for report on summons is 50 in a 30 limit, so unless he's unlucky or they were having some sort of campaign it should just be £60 + 3 points.
