Well 1 month after my licence became clean (well for totting up anyway) I have today received an NIP for 95 in a 70 (M4 Wiltshire). Remember it as well I think, van on a bridge just spotted too late, did slow down for the rest of the journey in case they sent another car after me as happened once before but guess they were a camera unit (can the mobile cameras get you head on?).

It's a fair cop and I will duly sign off on the form and take whatever penalty is thrown at me, however am interested in the levels so I know what to expect. I hear it is 26mph over and it will probably go to the magistrates, I am just inside this so what are the chances of it being a straighforward 3 points and fine?

Sorry if this is the most common and boring topic on here, did a quick search but it's the 95 bit that I need info on and nothing much was coming up.

95 in a 70 with a clean Licence should attract a Conditional Offer - £60 and 3 points.

1 mph more i.e. an uncut toe nail and it would be "Yor Worships".

Wazzamatter don't you like a clean Licence?

Does it count as clean though, if I go back 4 years I am showing 6 points, clean for last 3. I guess this part of the reason they stay on for that year longer, so that the mag can assess your prior history for that bit longer as well. Ho hum, I guess it makes no real difference, the form goes off and what happens happens.

Whilst points can stay on Licence for 4 years as far as totting is concerned they are spent at 3 years.

As far as Mags are concerned you want to see what is on Driver record sent for Court use to Court by DLVA - all sins, past and present.

How many years does this go back?

As I have been driving for 38 years and almost 1 million miles there are a few stains on my record - but none in the last 3 years.
