I have a Grantura MK2 that was brought in mind as the base from which to create a project Griffith type car.
Most of you will know that this idea is madness and hence why she is back on the market.
The car will be listed on e-bay from tomorrow evening @ 7.00pm.

It's funny that. my wife keeps telling me the same thing!!
seriously though. I wish people would stop over inflating scrap cars on e-bay. The work needed to build any pre 1980 TVR properly is always going to be cost prohibitive in terms of the cars value.
I get sadder and sadder when I think about all the vixens, granturas and M series cars out there, usually sitting on a driveway, neglected and slowly decomposing. The owners happily deluded with the thought that their 1 ton piece of iron oxide is actually worth a lot of money.
Its only worth a lot of money after someone has invested well over 3 times the cars net value in a restoration.
I recently bought a vixen 2 owners from new. the second owner left it in his back garden for 18 years. i bought a bodyshell, an identity and 2 wishbones. The rest is only good for a pattern.
its refreshing to see someone that realises something as beyond them and does the decent thing.

Nonsense Neil,
A classic TVR is only good for about 300 pounds of iron oxide, the rest being fiberglas. I bought an eBay car from a well know Florida dealer who promised the chassis was sound. Fortunately the main tubes were good, but the outriggers were rotted away. Everything mechanical was junk even though it was described as a good driver, and the "new leather interior" was a home-done plastic job.
On the other hand, the 65 Griffith that I got off eBay was in excellent condition.

Just sussed out who you are and made a connection. My most prised posession is a photo of me and Big G taken at Silverstone in 2003 where he presented me with a signed print, "2 Vauxhalls"
