Online gaming

I'm in need of more help.I am tryin to play toca three online and when I go to "play online" it says "No network adaptor (ethernet)detected" .I,ve searched for them on ebay but i'm wondering where they fit ,will it just slot on to the back of the playstation?

If you have a fat PS2 you need one of these www.amazon.co.uk/exec/obidos/ASIN/B00003E37F/202-2019147-0813449 and then broadband to plug it into, not sure about the thinner ones, as I know you can link them (join 2 with a crossed cable) without one of these,
