I have been trying the new Cadwell track with a base level model (Arbarth - standard model) and running on DX9 I was only getting around 22-25fps sometimes dropping down to 19 in the twisty bits at the end. I have been struggling to better a 1m40s laptime.

Decided to reconfigure GTL and run it on DX7 mode. Now my FPS moves between 90FPS and 55FPS on the slowest parts and straight away did a 1m37s. !

If I gain that much I might run the online races in DX7 as it can slow down on there when other cars are around, possible top tip for you guys too

I find the stutters even more annoying than low framrates

Try with VSync off or On. Try both.

The only stutters I ever get are when my PC's HDD starts to do something, that's annoying.

Just tried Hockenheim short in DX7 mode, gone half a second quicker straight away. I'm staying in DX7 for now

Don't think Nordschleife works in DX7 though that's not much of a prob if you don't use it though.

Tried the VSync, no joy

Stutters are a bummer indeed... check motherboard/chipset drivers.

You can also turn off your virus scanner (if you have one) which might prevent HDD access causing stutters. GTL shouldn't be accessing the disk very much once you're on-track.

Yep, tried all this..
Seems to be mainly on the corners, so I suspected a FF issue...

I might buy another stick of RAM in a month or two after all my debts have cleared

ARRRRRG

Someone (probably PVA ) had set my config to DX9 (probably to play the Nordschleife)

Turned it back to DX7 and tried a few laps of Hockenheim and instantly knocked 3 seconds off my 1:21 from Sunday night. Dontcha just love computers

Configure GTL Legends, shortcut either in the 10tacle/GTL folder on your start menu or in the GTL folder itself called GTLConfig.
