Maybe its just me and I'm sure its out of your control but every private email I get sent from here through my profile goes into my junk mail folder in hotmail.

I was just wondering if anything can be done about it? An email to microsoft?

Can you flag it as not-spam, so that next time it goes into your in-box?

Ultimately all I can do is change it so that you read mails from other PHers on PH and we just notify that they're waiting for you.

It probably doesn't like the fact that we spoof the mail address to make it look like it came from the members' original mail server.

In fact thinking about it. Perhaps I'm doing it wrong and I should be setting the reply address only

I think its this, I always add myself to the "safe list" on Hotmail, but each time it doesn't like the fact that I'm supposedly emailing myself.

Why not have mail come from noreply@pistonheads.com or similar?

I've been in touch with the writers of the software component that I use for emailing and following their advice, I've set a proper 'from' address on the outbound mail. You won't see any difference when you look at the mails, but the mail servers may treat it more kindly now.

Cool. It was just a little thing but thought I would give me feedback on it anyway.

I've just received one on hotmail which has an address that seems to be useful for marking as "not spam". I'll see what happens if I ever get another one.

For info - I'm still getting copy messages into Hotmail Spam. Am getting my email address on the "from" field, as previously.....

Unfortunately more and more of PH's mails are getting classified as spam. Very irritating.

I'm looking at various schemes such as bonded sender status etc that Hotmail and other big email systems refer to.

If anyone else has experience in this area I'd appreciate any suggestions.

Just switch of the spamfilters . . . Oh, that only works on Mac doesn't it . . .

Maybe it's an idea to create a ted@pistonheads.com, polarbert@pistonheads.com, dinkel@pistonheads.com etc. kind of webmail for the mailers? Could be usefull and traffic would be on the PH server only.

Don't fancy the support issues with creating email accounts for people though
