Not sure I can make this one.

Just checking on my insurance for track day cover and the 'small print' says:

1)The event must be organised by either:
a) A member of the ATDO
b) A member of the ARDS
c) A member of the FAEO

OR

2) The event must be organised by or on behalf of your classic car owners club that is itself relevant to the vehicle you are insuring with us
3) The event is non-competitive"

I'm assuming the event organiser will be either 1a,b or c above?

I would hate to bend my pride & joy and then discover I'm not covered!!!

Any comments?

John

i doubt we (wpce) are members of the 3.. i've certainly never heard of any of them mentioned by Nick who does all the organising with Llandow. we are covered by section 3 though, it most certainly isnt competative. laps arent timed and timing on your own accord is prohibited by Llandow marshalls

I can understand what you mean with regards the insurance John, but thankfully we have had relatively little offs, only one i can think of that was major.

I'll metion ATDO to Nick, as it may be useful to join them. I'll let you know if anything changes.

Yes, it would be useful.

ALL trackdays are non competitive. Part 3 is a little misleading as one of the other points has to be met also.

I know Llandow is quite a safe circuit but I'd still prefer to be safe in the knowledge that my insurance cover actually covers me.

Several Atoms have come to grief on other circuits, the latest was an incident at Bedford when an Atom was going to fast to take a corner and the driver purposly headed for the wilderness and hit a concrete manhole!!!!

yes they have

its £100 for car and single driver.
£25 for 2nd driver.

wpce arent registered with any of those ppl mentioned btw.
At the end of the day we just hire the track from Llandow and they run the event using their MSA approved marshalls and strict rules. Im waiting on a phone call back from them regarding summit in the next few days so i will check.

Thanks for the info.

It seems my Trackday Cover wouldn't cover me for these events. Maybe most take a chance.

Cant do this one I'm afraid guys.

Taking the Exige to Le Mans next week then have the VMAX dat at Bruntingthorpe in early July then a weekend in France with Lotus on Track in August with back to back days at Croix & Abbeville.

I wish tyres were cheap

Ive mentioned the above associations to Nic, maybe we will look into joining one or more of them if its feasable for us to do so, but i wouldnt expect any progres to be made before the next trackday.

Sorry John, nothing to stop you popping in to say hi though!
