I am looking for a few sounds from the TVR Griffith 400... which I suppose would also qualify the Tuscans etc which IIRC were fitted with the same Ford V8?

I've got a few clips at low RPMs and wondered if anyone here has any video/audio of these cars up to high RPMs.. or full tilt as it is sometimes known?

My main reason is to provide a realistic soundtrack for these:

See and hear your car in-game!

As we can see we have a Griff 400 in full TrackCar Solutions livery from the popular racing simulation 'GT Legends' (give it a go.. very realistic ). If you look closely you can just see my 'uncle-dave.co.uk' mark in the rear window. I had to leave it somewhere!!

So! Any help, very very much appreciated
Dave.

hello dave.

No sounds Im afraid. you will have to really contact Lawrence Bailey, Steve watton or jamie boot and see if any of them are testing near you shortly. Then see if you can strap a tape recorder to the car.

The car sounds very similar to a racing mustang but often has a sharper bark to it due to much smaller silencers and shorter length to the rear of the car.

regretfully mine is still some months away from completion.

Is this game available for PC? if so where can I get a copy

Neil.

I was in Spa Francorchamps a while ago - there was someone recording the sound of a FIA race Griff 400, I guess for the same reason
It was awesome ... I will ask around if the owner of the car or someone else got a copy of the recording

Try mailing jellison. He campaigns a Triumph in a race series which includes a couple of these beasts. Might be able to give you some names?

I did think about the Mustang actually...
and I has better give it a few more days on this board before emailling out But jellison looks like a good candidate to squeeze some information out of. Thanks!

The game is GT Legends, for the PC, and £15 delivered! Play.com Link. In fact we have a league going over on the PH Games Forum

I has a quick look on PH TV for a few videos, but must have missed that one George, I'll give it another shot!

And thanks a lot intermediate - that would be great, I am guessing it will have been for the same reason.. the game developers never do it right though!

Dave.

Hi There. We own and race a 65 Griff 200 alongside Laurence Bailey. We are planning to race it at Snetterton on Sunday 2 July with the HSCC if you are around. As the owner and racer of a 64 Ford Falcon too, I can definitely say that the Griff sounds very "angry" and in fact down right "rude"!

Let me know if this interests you - I'll change my PM details as I don't think my old email address is working any more. We may have some spare tickets if you fancy coming along - I am racing my Lancia Fulvia at the same race weekend - not quite so awesome!

A shame you can't make it. If you can think of a way to record it then let me know and we'll be happy to help - the car sits in our garage every day just waiting to roar in to life! We may also be racing the car at Snetterton (again) the week after (8/9 July) but we aren't sure at this stage.

The problem with Snetterton is that it is quite a distance... I might be there this Saturday but that will be it for a while ...
Hmm... I'll try and think of something!

lak,

Are there many TVRs racing at the Snetterton meet? I was taking my 1600M up to Cadwell Park to watch a classic race meet, but if there are TVRs to see at Snetters it would be rude not to go as I only live 15 miles up the road!
