I am thinking of replacing the standard aircon/ignition/hazard button surrounds (in standard black at the moment) with carbon ones, just to brighten up the very black interior. Is it an easy DIY job ? Do the surrounds come off easily or is it a dash out job, which I wont bother with if thats the case ! Any advice appreciated.

Bloody marvellous Bliar. Do you have the rest for download. You never know when you might need 'em.

I've made sure I got the entire set before I ever posted the link

They're all here

www.cannell.co.uk/Manuals.htm

It's about a 600 MB download for the entire 996 set. There's a 993 one as well (single file) but I havn't downloaded that so I don't know what if it's any good. If you save them with their names as on the site and then open up group 0 in Acrobat you will have the entire factory manual complete with index

One thing to watch is that the site is being redeveloped so they may move about a bit. Still well worth a dig if you can't find them as they were missing for a month or so recently.

Carbon 'effect'? What's that all about? My wife's Clio has got aluminium 'effect'. Is it as light as carbon fibre? or is it really just plastic 'effect'?

I have the same 993 .PDF from yonks back on Emule. For the info of potential downloaders, it's good quality and no problems, but only covers normally aspirated cars (2, 4 & RS). If anyone knows of the turbo supplement available electronically on the interwebby thang then please let me know.
