just wondering how your getting on with your car with the SVA as I'm about to do the same only, eSVA with a VX comm 2001. Any help greatly appreciated. Might end up with a great red elephant yet. Lets hope not as this kiwi looking forward to some driving. Thanks. PS hope you don't mind me using the forum as not a HSV.
I read one line that said they had ploblems with side impact tests, then read they had to do a brake test as well?

Also you've probably seen this on the web Acceptable Comparable Standards
the following non european standards are now considered to be comparable

Austrailian Standards
Anti Theft - ADR 82 in repect of an immobliser, but only when the immobiliser operates in coonjuction with the steering lock

Frontal Impact -ADR73/00

Side Impact -ADR72/00

Brakes -ADR 31/01

Emissions ADR79/00 (petrol and diesel to euro 2)
Emissions ADR 79/01 (petrol to euro 3 only)

How do we know what standards ours cars are up . Are they written anywhere in the log book or could holden aust ot nz confirm the cars are this standard as this would help considerably to pass the eSVA!!

There is a guy who drives a 40 year old Valiant and comes to some meetings, so I think a late model commie will be fine, assuming you get it on the road.

Should be interesting, cause there are two of us about to do the work on ours to get it through the test. Not sure about the eSVA though, cause we did ours as a personal import. Although, would be interesting to see what happens if we took all three cars along at the same time, and argue the point, well if you can register these two, why can't you register this one..??

If you need a comparable car that is UK registered I am willing to bring my VX HSV Clubsport R8 or as it says on my registration HSV UK GTS along to the party.

I may take you up on that, at the moment I've just done the dash, I put the equivalant speeds below the numbers in yellow and a mph sticker just below the km/h one but probably they will want the main numbers in mph but I think it's worth a try, tomorrow I hope to mount and wire the fog lamp, so will keep in touch. What part of the country are you. I'm london based and was going to try the Edmonton VOSA centre, but could probably go else where.

I don't know that you are going to get away with that though mate. cause the key speeds aren't marked. Not sure... would probably suggest getting a speed hut one to be on the safe side.

My speedo is a standard HSV one with the Kph covered by a black MPH sticker. When imported it was fitted with a converter to change from KPH to MPH which is in line with the speedo, this means the significant numbers are in MPH. The fog light in mine was put into one of the rear lights on the centre cluster. If any of you need any specific photos of my car let me know and I will take them and post them on here. I am on the Isle of Wight for those of you that don't know but make frequent trips to the mainland so a testing station in London would be ok.

yeh I know what your saying thought it would be worth a try. It's a USA site your talking about but they don't list our vehicles. Did you ring them and explained what you wanted or send a photo.

With speedhut you just select a supra which is about £80 then you just tell them in `the order sheet what colours you want and so on then in extra details you just tell them it is for a commodore and thats it. remember to tell them to move the MPH sign out of the way of the needle and if you want custom like mine you need to email them with your design and tell them in the order sheet that, you want the attcked design.

Cheers.

I wouldnt mind a pic of your foglight.

Hi Ray
Here we go just use these because they just use them as a price when you go through description and ordering just make sure you tell them it is for a vx commodore.
