Where to buy a motorsport helmet?

Not been to merlin in person but their range on the website looked quite limited when i was buying. Went to GPR who had hardly any stock and messed me about twice saying they had stock when they didnt, so wasted two trips to silverstone. Ended up buying from demon tweeks, loads of makes and most sizes in stock (still didn't have the bell k1 sv in XL but never mind).
Demon Tweeks supplied mine - Bell Sport 4 - and changed it promptly when I discovered I'd ordered a size too big: no charge for postage on the swap.
Tip: if you fall at or about the crossover between two helmet sizes, always go for the smaller one.
The peak took a long time to arrive, but that may be because not many people ever order them.
Merlin don't seem to have much stock, but that needn't be an issue as they do mail order too. I'm surprised to read the comment above about GPR, I always thought they specialized in clothing and safety kit first, so would have loads.

They have a good range but my mail problem was that i rang in advance both times and was told the sizes and models i wanted to try were in stock only to find they weren't when i arrived. They have a good range but DT have more.
bought mine from GPR over the phone - no problems at all. It's worth noting that some Motorcycle shops stock Type A helmets as well. I bought a Type A Bieffe full face from Fowlers in Bristol and the open face from GPR.

I bought mine at Merlin (an OMP Integrale Plus) - ok, so I could have bought it £10 cheaper elsewhere on the web, but thought as I live local to CC it was worth the tenner just to make sure it fitted well.

I'm nipping over to Merlin on Monday lunchtime for just this reason. I don;t know what will fit my head so trying a few on will be best.
