i have 1999 C4 996. After a tyre check, just noticed the front tyres have scrubbed on the inside. Not too bad, a combination of the tyres being low anyway and possibly tracking / alignment.

The questions are:

- do i need to go to Porsche for 4 wheel alignment or can i go elsewhere
- and is it actually necessary, or is this wear normal - lots and lots of short journeys (power steering, parking etc)

Sounds like it could be normal, if both front tyres are wearing the same way.

I think they're set up at the factory to do this to make for understeer , makes the car 'safer' .. I had mine set up to wear a little more evenly (and understeer less) in front at a local but reputable tyre place .. I don't think any of the big chain tyre sellers will do a good job, it takes more time than they're prepared to spend , to get things right.
